If you are not from the area, prestigious Short Hills is part of Millburn Township and together the communities share a rich past history. It's a comfortable suburb with a superb reputation and is steeped in history, culture and physical beauty.

Short Hills was one of the first commuter suburbs in the United States. Stewart Hartshorn, inventor of the roller window shade, developed the Short Hills Park district and supervised its design and construction, including the sixty Shingle Style and Queen Anne homes originally built.

Millburn/Short Hills has approximately 6,000 homes and the township is endowed with numerous features. The township wins constant accolades for the quick New York City commute via car or train, the excellent school system (one of the best in the nation), local off Broadway theatre, fine shopping at the world renowned Mall at Short Hills, and the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum. In addition to the protected 2,000 acre South Mountain Reservation, there are numerous municipal parks, athletic fields, a golf course, three bodies of water, and only an hour away is the New Jersey shore.

When you have large business parties or family affairs, with guests coming from out of town, you have a choice of the local five-star Short Hills Hilton or the Grand Summit Hotel.
